Are you thinking about contributing to our review of guardianship laws in NSW? We have made an easy-to-understand poster which shows how you can make a submission.
On 30 June 2016 we released Background Paper: Review of the Guardianship Act 1987.
The Background Paper is the first in a series of papers that we will be releasing and provides an overview of guardianship law in NSW. This Background Paper does not ask any specific questions; rather it is a resource for people to refer to when considering the issues that we raise in the question papers.
The Background paper is also available in Easy English - an accessible format that uses simple, everyday language and illustrations.
Video 1: Explains the background to the review.
We have also created a survey which corresponds with the Background Paper. The survey is a way to express your opinions about guardianship arrangements in NSW without making a formal submission. We will use the information gathered from the surveys to inform future publications including the Final Report. Even if you only have one or two points about how the law has affected you, we still want to hear them.
